Ian & Charlie
The RedFish campers story…
Redfish Campers is Ian Baxter and Charlie Bones Malone. Ian started Redfish Campers in 2012. He built his first camper back in 1990 whilst working as a production and engineering manager for British Steel. More than 25 years later he’s still at it.
Why?…
“I have owned many campers over the years, and have always been amazed at the amount of over-priced and poorly designed vans out there. I wanted to design vehicles with style and functionality – that is that not only look good, but are well designed and built to high standard, truly fit for purpose. Too many companies focus on high turnover of cheap vans for a high price – resprayed builders vans with high mileages and mass produced interior kit builds. I focus on low mileage well serviced, well looked after vehicles that I source myself, turning them into bespoke hand-built campervans – every piece of furniture is hand made in a workshop in Cornwall.” The result is a thing of beauty, designed to last a lifetime
Charlie who?…
Charlie Bones Malone is a two year old collie cross, quite possibly the friendliest dog on the planet, and takes on more of the customer meet and greet roles, as well as clearing the workshop floor of any wood offcuts, and turning them into a thousand more! He’s a dog of many tricks – come and visit and he’ll gladly show off his repertoire for a treat (or two!).
What our customers say
All good stuff…
“Hi Ian. Just to let you know the van is wonderful. Everyone is dead jealous. We’re sunning it up in Barnburgh Castle, Northumberland and loving it!”
“ Ian is friendly, warm, unpushy, open and honest. The quality of his work spoke for itself. The result – a van customised to what we wanted, not to what was expedient. We would wholly recommend Ian/Redfish Camper Vans and will use him again”
“We were so busy enjoying the van on our tour round Cornwall that we failed to thank you properly for your masterly conversion. We are most impressed by its features, in particular the extent and organisation of the storage. Everyone is most impressed by it, especially other camper van aficionados. We anticipate thousands of happy miles on the road with it. Thanks again!”
